Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible for initiating the modern study of eyewitnesses' memory, and children as witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received many prizes and grants. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the world regarding policies and research concerning children as victims within the legal system. She acts as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
